UX Designer
What the job entails:
UX designers make sure that websites and apps are easy for people to use. UX stands for 'User Experience'. Websites might have lots of information but if users cannot find their way around them then they will give up and go elsewhere. There are many things to think about in making a website that people will want to use. Not only should it be easy to find what is on it, but it should look interesting and attractive. It also needs to fit with the image of its company or organisation.
Routes and choices while at school:
Getting a good range of GCSEs at grades 4 or C or better, or equivalent, will help to keep your options open. For many courses and jobs you will need English and maths. Other relevant subjects include art and design, computing, and business studies.
Pay:
Pay when starting is about £22,000 to £24,000 per year. When experienced, it is about £35,000 to £45,000. For experts with a lot of experience, pay can rise to £60,000 or more.
